Realize You Can Do More, Then Do More.

Few will be excellent and be the best of the best.

Most never achieve excellence because the effort is too great, the cost too high, the road too hard, and the results to far away. We see others achieving excellence, and we demonize them, blaming their excellence on some Devine gift, attempting to soothe our bruised egos. If I had their physique, intelligence, money, pedigree, looks, charisma, (blah-blah-blah), then I would be excellent.

At times I have assumed that most that achieve unmatched excellence are entitled, SOB’s that look down on us, mere mortals.

Truth – The few individuals that become excellent at their craft, become excellent not because they think they are excellent. It is the exact opposite. They become excellent because they do not see themselves as excellent and are fanatical about self-improvement. Their self-awareness that they are not the best of the best drives them to keep working, learning, stretching, and practicing.

Fact – those that become excellent, become excellent because they know that they are not excellent. They see their human mediocrity and know that they can be more. They are the inverse of lazy, entitled, SOB’s.

Excellence is a habitual habit of looking in the mirror and asking, can I do more? Then doing more.
