Whether you think about it or not, you choose an Easy-Hard or Hard-Easy approach to life. This inevitable law plays itself out and its impact is real and life-changing. In this session, Art will cover the good news and bad news.
The good news: You can have, be, or do anything you want by living the concept of living Hard Easy— it will always deliver, no matter what. Do you want a thinner waistline? a bigger bank balance? a more committed passionate relationship with your family? respected and being in demand with your career?
The bad news: The opposite is also true! This law will work against you as easily as it will work for you. If you choose unhealthy food over a healthy diet and exercise, you will suffer the consequences. If you spend more than you make and end up in debt, you will suffer the consequences. Make no mistake. There are no quick fixes, no magic pills, no silver bullets, and no secret shortcut
More good news. No matter where you are in life right now, if you are unhappy with your current situation, you have the choice and the power to change. Once you recognize the challenge and appreciate the benefits of hard work now, versus harder work later, with just one decision, you can begin to turn your entire life around.
Make a short investment of time for potential life-changing results.

Why do some teams flourish, consistently exceeding goals and other teams flounder often falling short of the projected expectations? They use the same technical tools, draw from the same employee pool, deploy the same processes, serve the same customers, yet some teams thrive while other teams seem to be treading water or worse yet, drowning.
Why? All too often we are given knowledge and tools to MANAGE our employees, yet very little training or tools are offered to help us LEAD our employees. This session will examine some of the differences between Managers and Leaders. I will use personal and historical stories to magnify the focus on issues and concepts discussed.
This presentation will be well received by entry level attendees, mid-level managers and executives.
What Do Leaders Do? How do they: communicate, set and exceed goals, focus on important issues, develop responsible followers, walk the talk?

In this session, Art helps leaders improve their human connections. To have a meaningful impact on those closest to us, at home or in the office, we must genuinely connect with them… and not just through spreadsheets, dashboards, emails, texting, or social media. While technology has its place, when it comes to human connection, nothing beats doing life together in real time.
Sure, life in community gets messy. We hurt others and get hurt by others. We disagree. We argue. We sometimes say and do things we regret. But when we continue the effort and do it in the right ways, we make real connections and develop deeper relationships… and we then grow exponentially. We learn more about the world around us. We bond with others. We heal. We mature. We become better versions of ourselves. With genuine human connection in the office, your people will find more safety, creativity, enjoyment and excellence.
Join Art for a discussion about the practical ways to implement the Five L’s of genuine human connection: Living, Laughing, Learning, Leading, and Loving.

Almost any business leader can define P&L and potentially tell you why it’s important. In this session, Art defines a company’s P&E – People & Empathy – the most important factor in effective leadership.
Real leaders put empathy first, while never neglecting the P&L. They don’t hide behind data, but rather help others understand why they do what they are doing and how it benefits the organization and its individuals. Those leaders who ignite you to work uncommon hours and tackle uncommon challenges are those who empathetically allow you to foster an entrepreneurial style and take risks. If you make a mistake, they trust you to learn from and not make the mistake again. Real leaders focus on people and empathy first, profit and loss second.
Ironically, leaders who maximize P&L over the long haul are those who live P&E culture. When your people know you are loyal, fair, understanding and empathetic, they will crawl through glass to be successful and meet objectives. Not because they have to or even ought to, but because they want to. They will be loyal to you because you are loyal to them.
Join Art for a discussion about the direct correlation between a P&E culture and long-term profitability. See how the right P&E drives a better P&L!

Without a deep trust in each other, the chances for lasting success is radically reduced. Those who understand the significance of building teams and organizations with a leadership foundation on trust are going to find themselves doing what is right and what is good for all stakeholders.
Do you know the difference trust makes in your organization, your influence, your teams and the results you seek?

In the words of Benjamin Franklin, “He that is good for making excuses is seldom good for anything else.” As ruthless as that sounds, it is the truth. Many are great at making excuses for why things didn’t go their way. They lose sight of achieving the desired result and instead focus on manufacturing or rationalizing excuses.
In this session, Art discusses why most people never achieve their goals or the life of their dreams. He confronts the human tendency to make excuses (consciously and unconsciously) that destroy results. Excuses seem so rational in our minds. Perhaps even co-workers and friends validate you… but the reality is that they are just excuses: pathetic, life-limiting excuses. You have rehearsed and perfected their twisted logic and worn them over and over, so they are now as much a part of you as a few of those debatable tattoos you got while in college.
Let Art help you stop allowing excuses to imprison you within a life of mediocrity. Nobody wants to hear them, nobody gives a shit. Can you remove them? Yes! But just like those questionable tattoos, it will be difficult and painful. But it can be done with willpower, time, and perspective realignment.
Excuses don’t change results! Ditch the excuses and start living the life you were meant to live.
